Born in Bogotá, Colombia, in 1946, Eric moved to the United States in his youth. He obtained a degree in History at Pennsylvania University and some years later he started his artistic career. He travels through the entire country in his hippy days and was admitted to hospital in some instances, especially after trying to commit suicide on one occasion. His style, which holds great proximity to Expressionism, could be defined as primitive and clearly marked by an uncompromising technique where the gesture prevails over detail. Equally, we could say that Eric’s work is closer to what we call sublime rather than insisting on classical beauty. His work has been part of NAEMI’s Collection for many years. Every time we are in front of his paintings, we find people of undefined features.
