Lucia Ballester

Lucia's artwork is of a special sensibility, and this artists is furthermore a poet. She was born in Havana, Cuba, in the middle of the last century and studied Art History there.

She has exhibited numerous times in the United States in places such as the Centro Cultural Espanol CCE Miami and Friedric Snitzer Gallery, both in Miami. She paints, makes engravings and ceramics and illustrates her own poems, leaving her personal stamp on all of her pieces regardless of the artistic medium used in each case.

By virtue of numerous small dreamlike figures she creates a fantastic and innocent world, characterized by very precise drawing. The circus stands out among her favorite themes -small monstrous figures that through vivid colors and a very sweet treatment -like their author- are transformed into small friendly animals.
